Job summary

A leading electronics manufacturing company in Crawley is seeking an experienced inspector to evaluate incoming parts, including electronic components and mechanical items. The ideal candidate should have a solid mechanical and electronics background, proficiency in using metrology equipment, and experience in IPC 600 standards. This role involves various inspection tasks and close collaboration with suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Good mechanical/electronics background.
  • Ability to use metrology equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of technical drawings, measurements, and tolerances.
  • Experience inspecting parts to IPC 600 standard.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect all mechanical and electrical products using inspection plans.
  • Inspect all bare printed circuit boards.
  • Carry out first article inspections and generate reports.
  • Dispose of non-conforming materials and return to suppliers.
  • Conduct ERP transactions related to non-conforming material.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding non-conforming materials.
  • Work with suppliers to receive and close NCRs in ERP.

Role Overview

Inspection of incoming parts into the business. It mainly includes the inspection of electronic components and any manufactured item purchased to Chemigraphic or customer drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspection of all Mechanical and Electrical product using the inspection plans.
  • Inspection of all Bare Printed Circuit Boards.
  • Carrying out first article inspection including reports for the inspectable items.
  • Carrying out the disposition of the non-conforming material and returning to the suppliers.
  • Carrying out ERP transactions related to non-conforming material.
  • Liaison with suppliers with regards to non-conforming material and inspection reports ( FAIRs).
  • Work with suppliers to receive corrective action reports and close NCRs in the ERP system.
Key Requirements
  • A good Mechanical / Electronics Background.
  • Ability to use metrology equipment i.e. measuring equipments like Rule, Vernier calliper , Micrometre, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings - mechanical and electrical.
  • Able to understand the basics of technical drawings, measurements, and tolerances.
  • Experience of inspecting parts to IPC 600 standard
