Job summary

South West Recruitment in Poole is seeking a Quality Inspector to join a well-established manufacturing company. You will inspect cable assemblies and related components to ensure they meet customer specifications.

The role involves reading engineering drawings, using verniers and microscopes, and recording inspection results. You will work closely with production to maintain high quality and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a quality inspection role in a manufacturing or electronics environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings.
• Experience using inspection equipment such as verniers, microscopes and measuring instruments.
• Mechanical knowledge, particularly of connectors and crimping processes.
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or previous training would be advantageous, although not essential.

Responsibilities

• Inspect cable assemblies and associated components throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Carry out first-off, in-process (patrol) and final inspections.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Use inspection equipment including verniers, microscopes and other measuring devices.
• Identify, handle and record non-conforming products and rejects; report quality concerns to management.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation; work with production teams to uphold quality standards.
