Job Title: Quality Inspector - Automotive Department

📍 Location: Birmingham

🏭 Department: Paint

🎯 Reports To: Quality Manager / Paint Department Supervisor

💼 Responsible For: Ensuring the quality and compliance of painted automotive components

🕒 Working Hours & Pay Rates

  • Early Shift (06:00 - 14:00): £13.25 per hour
  • Late Shift (14:00 - 22:00): £13.75 per hour
🚗 Role Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Quality Inspector to join our Paint Department within a leading automotive manufacturing environment. You will play a key role in maintaining high-quality standards by inspecting painted components throughout the production process, ensuring they meet both customer specifications and internal quality benchmarks.

🎯 Key Responsibilities
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of painted components at various production stages
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards
  • Conduct paint quality audits, outflow checks, and packaging inspections
  • Accurately document inspection results and maintain traceability records
  • Identify, contain, and escalate non-conforming products
  • Collaborate with production teams to uphold quality standards and resolve issues
  • Support customer and supplier site inspections when required
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment in line with 5S principles
  • Provide support across departments when needed
📚 Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a quality role within a manufacturing or automotive environment
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 14001
  • Basic numeracy, literacy, and IT skills
  • Full UK driving licence required
  • Willingness to undertake further training and development
