Job summary

Owen Payne Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Quality Inspector to join our well-established manufacturing client based in the Willenhall area. This is a fantastic temporary-to-permanent opportunity for an experienced Quality Inspector looking to develop their career within a well-established company.

Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing or quality inspection environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment.
  • Knowledge of SPC, CAP studies and control charts.
  • Good IT skills including Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications.
  • Carrying out patrol inspections and first-off inspections to ensure production standards are maintained.
  • Inspecting, testing and measuring materials and finished products.
  • Identifying and reporting non-conforming products and ensuring appropriate action is taken.
  • Recommending adjustments to assembly or production processes where required.
  • Using precision measuring equipment including height gauges, calipers, shadow graphs and micrometres.
  • Operating electronic inspection equipment and associated software.
  • Supporting quality control processes and ensuring products conform to customer and company requirements.
  • Applying a basic understanding of SPC principles, including CAP studies and control charts.
  • Understanding and working within calibration procedures and requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate quality records and documentation.
  • Using Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word, to record and manage quality information.

This is a fantastic temporary-to-permanent opportunity for an experienced Quality Inspector looking to develop their career within a well-established company.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring products meet the required quality standards and specifications, carrying out inspections throughout the production process and identifying any non-conforming products.

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications.
  • Carrying out patrol inspections and first-off inspections to ensure production standards are maintained.
  • Inspecting, testing and measuring materials and finished products.
  • Identifying and reporting non-conforming products and ensuring appropriate action is taken.
  • Recommending adjustments to assembly or production processes where required.
  • Using a range of precision measuring equipment, including height gauges, calipers, shadow graphs and micrometres.
  • Operating electronic inspection equipment and associated software.
  • Supporting quality control processes and ensuring products conform to customer and company requirements.
  • Applying a basic understanding of SPC principles, including CAP studies and control charts.
  • Understanding and working within calibration procedures and requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate quality records and documentation.
  • Using Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word, to record and manage quality information.
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing or quality inspection environment.
  • Good knowledge of quality inspection processes and procedures.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Practical experience using precision measuring equipment.
  • The ability to operate electronic inspection equipment and software.
  • A basic understanding of SPC, CAP studies and control charts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of calibration.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to quality inspection.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of presswork, welding fabrication and stamping would be advantageous.
Working Hours:
  • Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30
  • Friday: 07:30 – 12:30
Rate of Pay
  • £13.21 per hour
