Job summary

A precision engineering firm in Tredington is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform inspections on machined parts to meet stringent customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in quality inspection in machine shop environments and familiarity with operating medium/large CMM machines, especially within the medical and aerospace sectors. Candidates must be adept in using precision measuring equipment. This position offers a permanent role onsite with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Quality Inspection role within a machine shop environment.
  • Experience operating medium/large CMM machines.
  • Experience working within the medical/aerospace industry producing high quality machined components to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a variety of inspection on all machined parts.
  • Carry out First Article inspection for components going through the CMM.
  • Ensure detailed inspection plans are issue controlled.
  • Work closely with Production to ensure quantities are met.
  • Use measuring equipment to establish specifications.

Position: Quality Inspector

Location: Tewkesbury

Job Type: Permanent / Onsite

Our long standing client who are experts in precision engineering machining complex components are on the lookout for a Quality Inspector.

Role and Responsibilities
  • In this role you will be responsible for a variety of inspection on all machined parts against the design intent. This will be to meet customer expectations and specifications so that they are maintained at the highest level.
  • To carry out First Article/First Off inspection for components that require going through the CMM.
  • Ensure that there are detailed inspection plans for all parts and that such plans are issue controlled; this includes CMM programs.
  • Working closely with Production to ensure that quantities are met.
  • Using measuring equipment to establish the specification of sizes, cylindricity and concentricity etc.
Experience or Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a Quality Inspection role within a machine shop environment.
  • Experience operating medium/large CMM machines.
  • Experience working within the medical/aerospace industry producing high quality machined components to tight tolerances.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment i.e. Mitutoyo Roundness Test, Micrometers, Vernier's, Height Gauges, Micrometers and Shadow Graphs.

Candidates who currently are a Quality Inspector, FAIR Inspection, CMM Inspector or Quality Technician may be suitable for this position.
