Job summary

A leading manufacturing company in the UK seeks a quality inspector to ensure that parts from both internal and external suppliers meet specifications. The ideal candidate will have an engineering background, be able to read technical drawings, and be skilled with measuring tools. This role contributes significantly to quality control and involves raising Inspection Reports for any non-conforming parts.

Qualifications

• Engineering background with the ability to read drawings.
• Experience using micrometers and calipers.
• Experience with CMM machine is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Inspect parts from the machine shop and external suppliers.
• Raise Inspection Reports for non-conforming parts.
• Inspect parts based on factory priorities.
• Support inspections during night shifts as needed.

Job description

Our client is a leading, well established and respected manufacturing business. Due to increased work demand our client is looking for a quality inspector.

Ideally our client is looking for someone with experience in the inspection of machined components.

Duties

• To inspect parts coming from machine shop (internal) and suppliers (external) and make sure they are good to drawings.
• To raise Inspection Reports when a part is wrong and follow up the issue.
• To inspect parts following the factory priorities.
• To inspect 1st offs from machine shop.
• To raise Inspection Reports with full information.
• To inform supplier if a part is wrong.
• During night shifts, support Assembly Department required inspections.

The ideal candidate

• Engineering background – ability to read drawings.
• Ability to use micrometers, bowers.
• Experience reading and running programme on a CMM machine (Advantage).
