Job summary

Orion Electrotech is seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector to join our global engineering team in the Aston area. The role focuses on inspecting CNC machined components and ensuring they meet quality standards before entering production.

You will investigate quality concerns and collaborate with suppliers to drive improvements. The ideal candidate has machining and inspection experience, reads engineering drawings, and uses verniers and micrometers to verify tolerances and finishes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming machined components against drawings and specifications.
  • Verify dimensional accuracy, tolerances and surface finishes.
  • Review supplier documentation and certification.
  • Identify non-conforming components and quality issues.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Raise and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality concerns.
  • Conduct occasional supplier visits when required.
  • Ensure only compliant parts are released into production.

Are you a Quality Inspector, CNC Machinist or Junior Quality Engineer looking to take the next step in your engineering career?

We are recruiting for a Quality Inspector to join a global engineering business manufacturing marine applications.

This Quality Inspector position offers a fantastic opportunity for someone with a machining and inspection background to move into a broader supplier quality and engineering role, working alongside an experienced Senior Supplier Development Engineer as part of a supportive and highly skilled team.

Unlike a traditional Quality Inspector role where extensive travel is required, this position is predominantly site based and focused on the inspection, investigation and improvement of supplied components before they enter production.

If you have experience inspecting machined components and understanding the quality requirements behind precision engineering, this could be the ideal move for you.

The Role

As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that all supplied components meet the quality standards required before they are released into manufacturing.

A significant part of the role involves inspecting incoming machined parts, investigating quality concerns and working with suppliers to identify and resolve root cause issues.

Working closely with the Senior Supplier Development Engineer, the successful Quality Inspector will play a key role in protecting manufacturing quality and driving continuous supplier performance improvements.
