Overview

We're seeking a Quality Inspector to join a well-established engineering manufacturer on a permanent basis near Ashton Under Lyne.

This Quality Inspector role is ideal for someone with a strong background in inspection within a regulated industry who takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.

Salary is c£30-35,000 per annum plus 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, company pension, professional career development etc.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out thorough checks on precision-engineered components before release to customers.
  • Ensure all items meet dimensional and visual requirements in line with customer and industry specifications.
  • Use a variety of measuring equipment (such as verniers, gauges, protractors, and height tools) to verify critical features.
  • Accurately complete quality records, reports, and customer documentation to support traceability.
  • Maintain a tidy and safe working area in line with workplace organisation standards.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve any issues and uphold continuous improvement.
Quality Inspector background
  • Previous inspection experience within aerospace, automotive, defence, or another highly regulated sector.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand tolerances.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, ideally metalworking, fabrication, or assemblies.
  • Comfortable using manual measuring tools and working to fine tolerances.
  • IT literate with good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and other office applications.
  • Detail-focused, methodical, and committed to delivering first-time quality.
