Job summary

Pertemps Redditch Industrial is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our Alcester operation. The role involves first and final inspections with manual and visual methods, alongside using Keyence, OGP and CMM equipment to capture precise dimensions and populate inspection records.

You will liaise with engineering on new product transitions, manage non-conformances, and support the containment process while contributing to FAIR pack completion.

Qualifications

• Must be familiar with quality control procedures and standards and have held a quality control role in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to read and interpret engineering and product drawings.
• CAD knowledge would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection operations using 3D optical scanners.
• Perform 1st and final inspections using manual and visual techniques.
• Populate the inspection database with all relevant dimensions.
• Sentence/record inspected parts using optical and CMM tools.
• Raise rejects and ensure containment for non-conforming parts.
• Liaise with engineering on transitions of new products.
• Complete FAIR packs.

Job description

This full-time Quality Inspector role in Alcester supports a manufacturer producing high-precision fabricated and machined metal components for aerospace, defence, and power generation. Duties include first and final inspection using manual and visual techniques, operation of 3D optical scanners such as Keyence, Scan and OGP, plus CMM equipment. The successful candidate will populate the inspection database with relevant dimensions, sentence inspected parts, raise rejects, capture containment, liaise with engineering on new product transitions, and complete FAIR packs. Familiarity with non-conformance processes is essential. A salary of £37,000 to £39,000 per annum is offered for this permanent position. The company are a manufacturer in Alcester manufacturing high-precision fabricated and machined metal components, for the aerospace, defence, and power generation industries. They are seeking to recruit a Quality Inspector for their operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspection operations using 3D Optical scanners
• Performing 1st and final inspections using manual and visual techniques
• Population of the inspection database with all relevant dimensions
• Sentencing of all parts inspected on optical (Keyence, Scan, OGP) and CMM
• Supporting the internal non conformance process – raising rejects and ensuring all containment is captured
• Liaise closely with the engineering team to ensure smooth transition of new products
• Completion of FAIR packs

Required Skills & Experience

• Must be familiar with quality control procedures and standards and have held a quality control role in a manufacturing environment
• Able to read and interpret engineering and product drawings CAD knowledge
• Strong communication skills and an attention to detail
• Strong team player
• An advantage would be to hold experience of the aerospace industry

The role is Lates – Monday to Wednesday 4.30pm to 2.30am – Thursday 4.30pm to 1.30pm
