Job description

As a Quality Inspection Technician, you will help ensure the quality and reliability of spacecraft components by inspecting and documenting incoming materials from suppliers and outgoing hardware before shipment. The role is critical in verifying that all parts meet required specifications and standards before entering or leaving our production facilities.

To be successful, you should bring strong attention to detail, integrity, and accuracy in following procedures. The role requires careful inspection work, precise documentation, and the ability to flag non-conformances when identified.

What you’ll do as a Process Inspection Technician:
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming parts, materials, and components against engineering drawings, work instructions, and typical aerospace workmanship standards (e.g. IPC, ECSS, NASA etc.).
  • Conduct final inspections of outgoing hardware to confirm compliance with customer and internal requirements prior to shipment.
  • Accurately document inspection results and maintain traceable quality records.
  • Identify and elevate non-conformances to Quality Engineers or appropriate Technical Authorities.
  • Verify packaging, labelling, and documentation of outgoing hardware to ensure compliance with shipping and customer requirements.
  • Handle and store inspected items in accordance with ESD, FOD, and cleanroom protocols.
  • Support calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment (e.g. callipers, torque drivers, microscopes etc.) to ensure they remain in proper working condition.
  • Assist in tracking calibration schedules in line with company procedures and quality management standards.
Key skills:
  • Two years minimum experience in aerospace, defence, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing/inspection.
  • Proficiency with production tools and drivers, callipers, torque wrenches/drivers, microscopes, solder stations, etc.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical work instructions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 workmanship standards.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols, ESD/FOD prevention.
  • Familiarity with ISO quality systems or other aerospace industry quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Preferred skills:
  • Certification in IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001.
  • Working experience with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality systems or other aerospace industry quality standards.
  • Experience executing calibration schedules for inspection and test equipment.
