Job summary

Currock Engineering Company Limited is seeking a Quality Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes for high‑tolerance aerospace/defence components. You will collaborate with production, QA and customers to ensure repeatable, compliant processes and evidence of AS9100/PPAP activities.

The role focuses on validating processes, controlling documentation, and leading Lean/Six Sigma driven improvements. Security checks may apply, with a strong emphasis on GD&T and ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• Demonstrable manufacturing/quality engineering experience in a precision machining environment.
• Strong GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation skills.
• Experience with aerospace/defence quality standards (AS9100, ITAR, NADCAP).
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimise validation of manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
• Create and maintain process documentation including PFMEA and control plans.
• Collaborate with engineering and production during product realisation to IV validation.
• Select tooling, fixturing, and measuring equipment to improve quality and reduce cycle times.
• Support quality by aiding root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and related methods.
• Support PPAP and IV submissions per aerospace/defence standards and customer expectations.
• Evaluate and introduce new manufacturing technologies and equipment as applicable.
• Provide technical support to machinists and operators on the shop floor.
• Ensure all processes comply with industry standards and customer specifications.
