Job summary

Fusion People are seeking a Quality Inspector in Dungannon to uphold and improve quality across manufacturing operations. The role reports to the Head of Engineering and focuses on reducing quality issues while maintaining ISO 9001 standards.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical or quality engineering background, at least 2 years in a quality role within engineering/manufacturing, and experience with quality tools such as 5 Whys or 8D and root cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a quality role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as 5 Whys, 8D, and root cause analysis.
• Experience with ISO 9001:2015 quality systems.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, including welding and coating/painting processes.
• Strong IT literacy and numeracy; self-motivated with a drive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect incoming materials and components to ensure quality standards are met.
• Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Manage non-conformance (NC) processes, root cause investigations, and preventative actions.
• Conduct quality training, toolbox talks, and awareness initiatives.
• Analyse and report on quality trends, providing feedback and improvement recommendations.
• Lead product failure investigations, warranty analysis, and corrective action activities.
• Manage rework schedules and support product recall processes when required.
• Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure ISO 9001:2015 compliance.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and support regulatory compliance activities.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
