I’m looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a highly regarded engineering business working on complex electro‑mechanical systems for the defence sector. This is a hands‑on role that combines technical quality assurance, auditing, and continuous improvement — ideal for someone who enjoys variety and has a real eye for detail.

Responsibilities
  • Verifying configuration status of hardware and reviewing supporting documentation
  • Preparing and maintaining project quality documentation throughout the full lifecycle
  • Supporting and running First Article and Factory Acceptance Testing activities
  • Conducting internal and external audits for process, procedure, and contract compliance
  • Managing the internal audit schedule and tracking corrective actions
  • Leading and supporting investigations, root cause analysis, and lessons learned reviews
  • Supporting continuous improvement and supplier quality activities
Qualifications
  • Background in defence or other high‑integrity engineering environments
  • Strong understanding of electro‑mechanical hardware and configuration control
  • Experience carrying out quality audits (in‑house and at suppliers)
  • Internal Auditor qualification and 8D problem‑solving experience
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to work independently and under pressure
  • Quality‑related qualifications such as C&G 743, IQA A3, Lead Assessor, or equivalent would be an advantage
