Reed seeks a Quality Engineer to support inspection and QA across prototype and low-volume manufacturing on-site at Beaconsfield. You will perform dimensional and visual inspections, verify parts to drawings, and manage calibration and QA documentation.

The role involves non-conformance investigations, supplier and customer quality activities, and improvement of the quality management system in line with ISO 9001/AS9100. A technical engineering qualification is advantageous.

Formación

• Experience inspecting parts within manufacturing, machining, additive manufacturing or a precision engineering environment.
• Confident using standard inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers and gauges, with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience of structured problem solving and CAPA management, with a methodical and detail-focused approach.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports for customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently, make sound judgements on part acceptance and manage varied priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Right to work in the UK.
• A technical qualification such as an apprenticeship, HNC, HND or engineering degree would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of GD&T, CMM or 3D scanning, ISO 9001, AS9100, FAIR documentation, PPAP or experience across processes such as CNC machining, injection moulding, vacuum casting or sheet metal would be beneficial.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out dimensional and visual inspection of prototype and low-volume parts.
• Use measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauges and where available CMM and 3D scanning systems.
• Verify parts against drawings, GD&T, specifications and tolerances; decide release or quarantine.
• Produce inspection documentation including measurement reports, first article inspection reports and certificates of conformity.
• Maintain calibration records and coordinate calibration activity.
• Support and improve the quality management system through audits, CAPA tracking, KPI reporting and ISO 9001/AS9100 compliance.
• Investigate non-conformances using 8D, 5 Why and Ishikawa; ensure corrective actions are closed.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, project management and sales; support supplier inspections and customer quality queries.
