Job summary

Octagon Group in Whitstable seeks a Quality Engineer with strong metrology expertise to support dimensional inspection and process capability improvements in a precision manufacturing environment.

The role involves using CMMs to inspect parts, maintaining inspection plans and records, and collaborating with Engineering, Production and Quality teams to reduce scrap and improve capability.

Qualifications

Experience interpreting engineering drawings and tolerances.
Practical knowledge of metrology and dimensional measurement.
Experience with inspection equipment and measurement systems.

Responsibilities

Carry out dimensional inspection using CMM and other measurement equipment.
Maintain detailed inspection plans, ISIRs and FAIRs.
Support First Article Inspection activities.
Interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T requirements.
Work closely with Engineering, Production and Quality teams to resolve issues.
Maintain accurate quality and inspection records.

A leading manufacturer of a range of complex electronic applications for the military and aerospace industries.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer, Metrology Engineer or experienced Quality Inspector with a strong background in dimensional inspection and precision measurement. You will be responsible for maintaining inspection plans and quality records, carrying out measurement activities and supporting the manufacturing team in improving process capability and reducing scrap.
