Job summary

Niftylift Limited is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility in Hoyland, Barnsley, UK.

You will support production, maintain quality systems, and drive preventive actions using proven problem‑solving methods, with duties including data analysis and containment of customer issues.

The role offers a permanent, full‑time schedule (40 hours/week), 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, a 5% pension, a company bonus, healthcare and other benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing practices including welding/fabrication and machining.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Access and Project helpful.
• Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.
• Proven problem-solving experience using 5Why, Ishikawa and 8D methods.
• Experience with DFMEA and PFMEA.
• Knowledge of PPAP/APQP tools and methods.
• Lean principles, Six Sigma DMAIC understanding.

Responsibilities

• Support operational processes in developing and maintaining Quality Systems.
• Facilitate problem solving to prevent day-to-day quality issues.
• Provide data analysis to support management decisions on quality performance.
• Contain and implement preventative actions in response to customer complaints.

The Quality Assurance Engineer will provide support to production and facilitate and deliver robust preventative actions using proven problem‑solving techniques.

Main Tasks of the Role:

• To provide support to all operational processes in the development of and maintaining of Quality Systems and Procedure in line with Niftylift Standards.
• Support the development of a no‑fault forward culture through the facilitation of problem solving resulting in the prevention of day to day quality issues.
• Provide measured data and analysis of data to support management decisions concerning quality performance.
• Provide effective containment and preventative action response to customer complaints affecting your assigned areas of responsibility.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience in manufacturing practices; Welding/Fabrication, CNC Machining, Assembly, Finishing Processes and Pressing
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Computer literate – with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint also Access and Project but not essential.
• Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015)
• Proven Problem Solving experience, 5why, Ishikawa and 8D methods
• Experience of D.F.M.E.A. and P.F.M.E.A.
• PCN Visual Weld Qualification leve 2 or CSWIP 3.2
• Working knowledge of PPAP/APQP tools and methods
• Working knowledge of LEAN principles
• Understanding of Six Sigma D.M.A.I.C.
• HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering discipline

• Working hours for the role are 40 per week (07:30 - 16:30, Monday - Thursday and 07:30 - 13:30 on Friday).
