What you’ll be doing
  • Ensuring operational compliance to specifications and quality standards e.g. ISO 9001
  • Driving and supporting targeted Continuous Improvement activities
  • Responsible for leading and managing the resolution of quality issues and supporting the internal audit process and external audits
  • Reviewing shop floor records, technical specifications and drawings, inspection of products for approval and review and approval of Certificates of Conformity
  • Monitoring, analysing and reporting of reject data and quality issues to both internal and external customers
  • Working closely with export customers to understand their product and quality requirements
  • Raising of concessions and associated paperwork to customer requirements to allow product deliveries
  • Willing to travel within the UK and Overseas for supplier and customer reviews, visits and audits
Your skills and experiences
  • Qualification in an engineering discipline or time served in an engineering discipline – Engineering, Maths or Science degree or equivalent
  • Proven experience within quality management in a manufacturing environment preferably of a similar highly controlled nature (aerospace, automotive, nuclear, medical devices, etc.)
  • Competent in the use of a range of quality investigation techniques such as 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa
  • Ability to effectively coordinate data collection whenever necessary to inform business decision
  • Strong communication skills, demonstrable at all stakeholder levels within a business

The Heavy Bomb, Payloads & CT40 Ammunition IDT

Reporting to the IDT Senior Quality Engineer, you will be working on all aspects of quality management across a wide range of ammunition natures. Working within an Integrated Delivery Team you will be working closely with a number of different stakeholder departments including Project Management, Engineering and Procurement. This position will be primarily based at the BAE Systems Land UK site in Glascoed, Monmouthshire on a 4 / 4.5 day working pattern with occasional travel to other manufacturing and supplier sites as necessary.
