You will implement inspections, read drawings, verify conformance, and contribute to NCR handling and FAI reporting, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in quality inspection or similar role.
• Able to interpret and read engineering drawings.
• Experience with measuring equipment: verniers, height gauges, CMM.
• Knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety systems (ISO 9001, 3834, AS9100/ AS9102).
• Problem solving and time management skills.
• Proficient with IT systems.
• Good communication and teamwork with management and customers.
• Attention to detail.
• Flexible team player.

Responsibilities

• Perform first-off, in-process and final inspections with precision measuring tools.
• Verify compliance with engineering drawings and customer quality requirements.
• Complete and support First Article Inspection (FAI) reports.
• Investigate customer concerns and raise NCRs.
• Identify opportunities for improvements and document them.
• Maintain inspection and calibration records to national standards.
• Ensure smooth workflow to meet customer demand.
• Participate in on-site training to uphold quality standards.

Job description

Prodrive Recruitment Consultants Ltd are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our well-established clients based in Worcestershire who are a leading manufacturer of complex and safety-critical engineering parts for the defence and transport sector.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring products meet the highest standards of quality and safety and ensuring that all safety-critical products and components meet specification requirements.

Main Responsibilities

• Implement and perform first-off, in-process and final inspections and with the ability to use precision measuring equipment which include: verniers, height gauges and multi-axis Measurement Arms
• Verification of compliance with engineering drawings and individual customer quality requirements
• Complete and support First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
• Investigate customer concerns, responsible for raising and managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
• Consistently identify opportunities for improvement within the department and record all improvements
• Maintain accurate inspection and calibration records in line with national standards
• Maintaining a continuous workflow and identifying issues affecting smooth operations to meet customer demand
• Responsible for ongoing training of shop floor personnel on maintaining consistent quality and standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Quality inspection or similar role - minimum 2 years+
• Able to interpret and read engineering drawings
• Experience in the selection and use of measuring equipment including verniers, height gauges, multi-axis Measurement Arm
• Specialised knowledge regarding Quality and Health and safety management systems eg. ISO 9001, 3834, AS9100 (AS9102)
• The ability to problem solve and time manage priorities
• Proficient user of IT systems
• Good communication skills and an ability to work alongside and with management, colleagues and customers
• Pays attention to detail
• A flexible team player

Salary: up to £16.64 per hour DOE + Company Benefits

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 07:45 - 17:15, Friday 07:45 - 13:00

Temporary to Permanent Contract.
