Job summary

Xplor Technologies is seeking a Quality Engineer to advance automated testing and AI-driven solutions across our software platforms in the UK. You will develop and support automated tests, explore new tools, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve testing strategies and product quality.

You will leverage TypeScript, OpenAI APIs, and AI best practices to deliver robust, scalable test infrastructure and contribute to high-quality software experiences for customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent working experience.
  • Experience as an Automation Engineer with AI and large-scale software development projects.
  • Proficiency in Typescript and experience with calling OpenAI APIs.
  • Strong understanding of AI principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor team members.
  • Proven ability to collaborate within a team and explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English in daily use.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and support automated tests using Jest, Detox and Playwright.
  • Deep-dive into products and technologies to identify automation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with product engineers, product manager, and stakeholders on testing strategy.
  • Set up, deploy, and manage automated test infrastructure.
  • Analyze test results, track defects, and provide actionable insights.
  • Take ownership of end-to-end automated test development including infrastructure and deployment.
  • Influence AI-driven feature design to ensure robustness and scalability.
  • Assist with AI-driven solutions during development and improve maintainability.

Job Description

As a Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality and efficiency of our software products through automated testing and AI-driven solutions. Your primary focus will be on developing and supporting automated tests, diving deep into our products and technologies, and collaborating with global cross-functional teams. Additionally, you will integrate AI functionalities to improve developer and customer experiences. Your expertise in automation and AI will be key to delivering exceptional software quality and an outstanding customer experience.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Developing and Supporting Automated Tests:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Jest, Detox and Playwright.
  • Ensure the robustness, reliability, and maintainability of automated tests.

Deep Diving into Products and Technologies:

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of our products and technologies to identify potential areas for automation.
  • Continuously explore new tools and methodologies to enhance the testing process.

Working with Product Development Teams:

  • Collaborate with product engineers, the product manager, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on testing strategies and objectives.
  • Contribute to making application code more testable and robust.

Deploying and Supporting Automated Test Infrastructure:

  • Set up, deploy, and manage the infrastructure required for automated testing.
  • Ensure the scalability and reliability of test environments.

Evaluating Test Results:

  • Analyze test results to identify issues, track defects, and ensure they are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Provide actionable insights based on test outcomes to improve product quality.

Sense of Ownership:

  • Take full responsibility for the end-to-end automated test development, including infrastructure and deployment automation.
  • Lead the testing strategy to effectively utilize automation tests.

Impact on Software Design and Code Quality:

  • Influence the design and quality of AI-driven product features, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and maintainable.
  • Develop high-quality AI software that meets customer needs and exceeds expectations.

Customer Experience and Maintainability:

  • Assist with AI-driven solutions during the development process.
  • Enhance the maintainability and scalability of AI functionalities in the product.
Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Typescript and experience with calling OpenAI APIs.

  • Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and mentoring of fellow team members.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
