Quality Engineer | £41,500 | Leading MRO | Southend-on-Sea
Are you passionate about raising the bar in aviation quality? Would you like to be part of a leading MRO where innovation, safety, and technical skill set the tone? My client is seeking a talented Quality Engineer to drive quality initiatives, and ensure their maintenance standards exceed expectations every time. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System within the component maintenance environment. This role ensures compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including EASA Part 145 and relevant aviation authorities, for approved maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct scheduled internal and external audits and inspections.
  • Maintain the independence of the Quality function to ensure compliance with Part 145.A.65(c).
  • Manage mandatory occurrence reporting processes in line with Part 145.A.60, including internal reporting schemes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EASA Part 145 and Safety Management System (SMS) risk-based principles.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day administration and control of the Quality Department and audit programme.
  • Administer company manuals and controlled documentation.
  • Administer the staff authorisation system to ensure compliance with Part 145.A.35 requirements.
  • Conduct investigations and prepare reports on quality, technical, and maintenance issues using recognised investigative methodologies (e.g. MEDA), for internal senior management and regulatory authorities.
  • Manage and administer non‑conformance processes.
  • Liaise with manufacturers and vendors on quality matters relating to component or aircraft maintenance.
