Job summary

Barhale is recruiting a Quality Co-ordinator to support project teams with QA deliverables, inspections, and non-conformance management on civil/infrastructure projects.

You will work with Site Engineers, Site Supervisors and the central QA team to ensure robust quality systems, compliance and timely handover documentation. Barhale values people, safety and continuous improvement across large-scale programmes.

Qualifications

  • Experience in civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to implement quality control and drive a QA culture.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, monitor and support the project team in the production of Quality deliverables.
  • Promote reporting of non-conformances and drive lessons learned.
  • Ensure QA activities align with W&S I and project requirements.
  • Lead on-site quality control, inspections, acceptance tests and non-conformances.
  • Collaborate with Head of Quality to ensure documentation is produced for commissioning and handover.

Quality Co-ordinator
The Role

Operate within the project environment to support the project team in the production, Coordination, submission, and signing of Quality assurance deliverables.

Coordinate, monitor and support the project team in the production of Quality deliverables following Project W&SI & Management Systems to meet the time, quality and budgetary and health and safety targets.

Ensure Quality Assurance activities applied are comprehensive, robust, in line with the W&SI, and are appropriately applied to the scalability, complexity, and levels of risk across the programme.

Working with Site Engineers and Site Supervisors, reporting into the Site Manager and the central Quality Assurance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the project team to ensure all site quality documentation is coordinated/maintained/recorded/and registered as necessary to ensure compliance with Company procedures and Contract Requirements.
  • Promote the reporting of non-conformances.
  • Drive the continuous improvement culture by promoting and supporting Lessons learned (post-project) reviews together with shared quality learning events.
  • Cascade out the central Quality function reporting and act as the point of interface between the central quality team and regional teams for the quality function.
  • Deliver GIRI training to the regional teams. Training will be provided.
  • Assist the Assurance team, project, and site team to ensure the quality systems are being implemented across the project.
  • Take a lead role in monitoring quality control on-site, compliance with Inspection and Test requirements, deliverable records and closure of Non-conformance and Outstanding Works. overseeing ITP compliance on live works.
  • Chase test results and close out records.
  • Work with site teams to resolve NCPs.
  • Advise the site teams on Quality-related topics and Issue Quality Bulletins and Alerts
  • Ensure that the management controls in place are being followed.
  • Ensure visibility and traceability of documented evidence are monitored and maintained.
  • Offer Quality guidance, direction, and instruction to the operational team to develop and improve their understanding of the Quality Management System
  • Gather information and feedback from the Project Teams to enable improvement.
  • Promote a positive Quality Culture
  • Support the business to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Standard and contract requirements.
  • Be a champion for the Quality - Right First Time initiative.
  • Take a proactive role in QA deliverable planning, ensuring all hold points are mapped out and communicated.
  • Work closely with the Head of Quality in achieving progressive assurance through the construction phase into the commissioning/ handover phases.
  • Work with the Head of Quality to ensure the commissioning and handover documentation is produced in line with project requirements, Utility Company requirements and contract requirements.
  • Be a champion for innovation.
Essential
  • Experience in civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure projects
  • Previous experience working in a quality Coordinator role.
  • Ability to implement quality control.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to influence site teams and drive quality culture
Desireable
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 and audit processes
  • Experience managing NCRs and QA documentation systems
  • In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of packages
