Job summary

A leading food manufacturing company in Geddington is looking for a Manufacturing Key Operative - Quality Controller. You will perform routine checks on products and packaging to ensure compliance with food safety and legality. The ideal candidate enjoys teamwork in a fast-paced environment and has a good level of fitness. Experience in quality control or food safety is desirable but training will be provided. Job description

As a Manufacturing Key Operative - Quality Controller you'll make routine checks on products and packaging to make sure that they're correct from a food safety and legality perspective. You'll use relevant systems to record information and demonstrate traceability and due diligence on behalf of the site and company, and will escale any non‑conformances to prevent product withdrawals or recalls. Your quality checks may involve temperature probing, swabbing, weight and size checks, and you'll be working towards minimising and preventing any loss of sales or profit whilst ensuring customer requirements are continually met.

Previous manufacturing and food handling experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be given. You'll be the kind of person who:

• Loves working as part of a team
• Enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment
• Is happy in an active role and has a good level of fitness
• Is able to work in varying temperatures of around 8 degrees and below (we provide full protective clothing)
• Takes pride in completing tasks to the best of your ability

Desirable Experience

• Quality Control and understanding of product allergens
• Food Safety Level 2 and/or HACCP Level 2
