Heidelberg Materials UK in Port Talbot is seeking a Quality Control Technician to ensure the consistent quality of Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS), from raw materials inspection to dispatch of finished products. You will work with a dedicated team to uphold product specifications and support site quality objectives.

The role emphasizes accuracy, data analysis, and adherence to European standards, with a 40-hour week, a £37,783 salary, and overtime opportunities.

• Previous experience within a quality control, laboratory, manufacturing, production, or process environment would be advantageous, although training can be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Sampling and preparing production, delivered, stock, and export granulate materials for testing.
• Conducting laboratory analysis and testing of granulate samples.
• Supporting production planning by helping prepare consistent granulate stockpiles for manufacturing.
• Reviewing and monitoring process quality control data on a daily basis.
• Carrying out regular sampling and testing of finished GGBS products to ensure compliance with European standards and customer requirements.
• Inspecting Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts and identifying process variations to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintaining accurate quality records and reporting quality data to internal and external stakeholders.
• Managing and communicating instances of non-conforming materials and quality variances.
• Contributing to quality improvement projects and helping achieve site quality objectives and targets.
