Job summary

First Base Employment is seeking a Quality Control Technician in Clevedon to join the Compliance Technical Team and uphold top quality and food safety standards. The role suits someone with prior QC/QA experience in fast-paced manufacturing.

You will test finished products and raw materials, upload data to SAP, coordinate taste panels, and prepare samples for chemical, microbiological and allergen testing, while supporting technical projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • GCSE Maths and English completed.
  • Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out quality control testing on finished products and raw materials.
  • Upload quality data onto SAP and release approved products.
  • Set up and coordinate taste panels.
  • Prepare and dispatch samples for chemical, microbiological and allergen testing.
  • Complete scheduled microbiological swabbing and water sampling.
  • Support production by responding to technical queries and documenting that work.
  • Assist with technical projects and provide wider support to the Technical Team.

Quality Control Technician

Location: Clevedon, North Somerset

Salary: £28,608 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week

Monday to Thursday: 08:45 – 16:45

Friday: 08:45 – 16:00 (includes a paid 45-minute lunch break and an early finish)

The Role

We are recruiting for a Quality Control Technician to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing business. Working within the Compliance Technical Team, you will play a key role in ensuring products meet the highest quality and food safety standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous quality control experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out quality control testing on finished products and raw materials.
  • Upload quality data onto SAP and release approved products.
  • Set up and coordinate taste panels.
  • Prepare and dispatch samples for chemical, microbiological and allergen testing.
  • Complete scheduled microbiological swabbing and water sampling.
  • Support production by responding to technical queries and completing associated documentation.
  • Assist with technical projects and provide wider support to the Technical Team.
About You
  • Previous experience within a Quality Control or Quality Assurance environment.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible approach with a positive attitude.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.
