Job summary

Job description

Our client a leading food manufacturer based in Menstrie is looking to recruit a Quality Control Technician.

You will be working to your own remit as well as part of the site Quality Control Team.

Position is initially for 6 months, however could be extended.

Position is Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.

Pay is £24.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working in a team structure within a rotating pattern (including weekends)
  • Accurate and timely execution of analytical testing to defined methods (raw material, in‑process and end product)
  • Effective communication of results to production and quality personnel
  • Accurate and timely reporting of results in the appropriate electronic system
  • Organoleptic assessment of end products
  • Laboratory equipment calibration as per schedule
  • Hygiene audits as per schedule
Essential Requirements
  • Minimum HND level (in chemistry or related discipline)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in analytical laboratory role with experience in:
    • Chromatography (ideally HPLC & GC)
    • Spectrophotometry (UV VIS)
    • Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy
    • Wet Chemistry methods including colour change titrations.
    • Maintenance and calibration of all laboratory equipment to ensure effective operation.
  • Proficient in IT systems in particular word/excel/powerpoint.
