Job summary

A leading Formula 1 team in the UK is seeking an experienced NDT Technician to evaluate parts using non-destructive techniques and ensure compliance to quality standards. Responsibilities include inspection of components using various NDT processes, maintaining high safety standards, and supporting team activities. Job description
Role Purpose (Job Profile):

The day-to-day tasks of an NDT Technician. Evaluating parts, using non-destructive techniques, for conformance to specification. And, as required, performing other metrology or analysis tasks for parts within the company.

Main Duties:
  • Verification that all parts passing through the department are examined to the required quality standards.
  • Routine and complex NDT processes using a variety of methods and on a variety of materials.
  • Maintaining training material and method sheets.
  • In conjunction with the Inspection Team Leader, ensure that parts are inspected and moved on during the correct time periods.
  • NDT equipment calibration and maintenance as required.
  • Communication of pertinent information to designers, manufacturers and other inspectors as required.
  • Communication of process and product improvements.
  • Industry standard required safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain adherence to priorities and escalate appropriately any challenges.
  • Opportunities to support race team activities and events.

Qualifications and Experience Level:
  • NDT experience of components and parts manufactured in a variety of materials including carbon‑fibre composites and metals.
  • Minimum PCN level 2 Aero or equivalent in:
  • Ultrasound Inspection (UT) with experience inspecting carbon fibre components,
  • Eddy Current (ET) Inspection,
  • Magnetic Particle Inspection (MT).
  • Dye Penetrant Inspection (PT).
