NMB Minebea UK, based in Lincoln, seeks a Quality Control Manager to lead a 20+ engineering team in delivering world-class aerospace quality. You will drive regulatory compliance, implement robust QMS, and lead continuous improvement across manufacturing.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a track record in regulated environments. You will embed a culture of excellence, reduce non-conformances, and ensure top-quality components for aerospace applications.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification with aerospace exposure.
• Proven leadership in a large quality function.
• Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100 and NADCAP.
• Hands-on shop floor presence and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Quality Control function and set clear expectations.
• Identify training gaps and upskill the team.
• Maintain hands-on presence on the shop floor.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace QMS procedures (ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP).
• Lead root-cause investigations using 8D and 5 Why.
• Ensure First Article Inspection Reports to AS9102.
• Oversee environmental compliance to ISO 14001.
• Drive reduction of non-conformances and report KPI performance.

Quality Control Manager – NMB Minebea UK (Lincoln)

Are you an experienced Quality professional with strong leadership skills, ready to lead a full Quality Control function and drive world-class standards, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance in a precision engineering environment?

Our exclusive client NMB Minebea UK, part of a global manufacturing group with operations across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, is renowned for precision engineering and the production of mission-critical components.

This Quality Control Manager role is based in Lincoln. You will lead the Quality Control department (20+ engineers and inspectors), ensuring high standards of safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement while embedding a culture of world-class manufacturing and aerospace regulatory compliance across the site.

As the Quality Control Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Demonstrating strong leadership to organise the Quality Control function, set clear expectations, and ensure every area understands its role in quality assurance, quality control, and compliance deliverables
• Performing training gap analysis across all quality functions and establishing clear strategies to upskill the team
• Maintaining a hands-on, visible presence on the shop floor and across the business
• Ensuring full company compliance with aerospace QMS procedures (ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP, etc.)
• Leading root-cause analysis investigations using proven problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and 5 Why
• Ensuring compliance with First Article Inspection Reports to AS9102
• Overseeing company-wide environmental compliance procedures to ISO 14001
• Driving reduction of non-conformances, timely resolution of manufacturing/production issues, and effective continuous improvement through regular reporting on NCRs, KPIs, customer issues, shop-floor deviations/concessions, and supplier performance

As the Quality Control Manager you will bring:

• Apprenticeship, HNC/D (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
• Strong leadership capability with a proven track record of improving team performance
• Background in quality assurance and quality control within a highly regulated environment
• Ability to lead a large quality function
• Demonstrable experience resolving manufacturing issues using 8D, 5 Why, and similar methodologies
• Hands-on approach to leadership with a willingness to be visible across all areas
• Very strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
• Inspection and metrology experience
• Competent in all Microsoft packages with strong overall IT skills
• Degree in an engineering discipline
• Aerospace manufacturing environment experience
• Experience with aerospace standards such as AS9100, AS9102, NADCAP, etc.
• Knowledge of aerospace regulatory compliance (CAA, EASA, FAA)
• Knowledge of machining processes and non-destructive testing (NDT) procedures

Hours of work Day Shift Monday to Thursday 07:30–16:00 Friday 07:30–12:30
