Job summary

Almac Group is offering a 12-month placement in our Pharma Services Quality Control lab from July 2027 to July 2028. You will perform routine QC analysis of raw materials, intermediates and finished products to defined specs, working 37.5 hours weekly in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Open to Life Science students with a chemistry component, you will maintain records, support equipment calibration, review documentation and assist investigations and training as part of a collaborative team

Qualifications

• This placement is suited to a life sciences student who enjoys practical laboratory work and can perform accurately in a challenging, time-focused environment.
• Pursuing a BSc in life sciences with chemistry component.
• Able to complete a 12-month full-time placement before returning to university to finish the programme.
• Laboratory analysis experience in an academic or commercial setting is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Quality Control analysis of raw materials, intermediates and products.
• Maintain accurate analytical records and support laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration systems.
• Review completed Quality Control documentation and report out-of-specification results.
• Support investigations and troubleshoot analytical methods with experienced colleagues.
• Contribute to packaging documentation review, new-starter training and internal Good Manufacturing Practice inspections.
