Job summary

Unipart in Newcastle is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to ensure products and services meet customer specs, internal standards and legal requirements. You will review and create work instructions, carry out rigorous inspections throughout the production process, and drive the investigation and resolution of any quality issues.

The role is central to maintaining our quality management and calibration systems, working with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

Experience reading engineering drawings and working with manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 and industry standards like ASME.
Experience dealing with external suppliers and customers.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

Conduct and record comprehensive inspections on incoming materials, in-process work, and final products.
Perform internal QMS and product-specific audits, and coordinate inspections with customers and third parties.
Stop any process or delivery if quality compliance is at risk, informing the Manager(s).
Review and issue clear work instructions for contracts to meet customer and internal standards.
Raise and manage NCRs, concession reports, and material certifications.
Initiate investigations into warranty claims using RCA and coordinate corrective actions.
