Job Title: Quality Control Inspector – Electrical

Location: Rosyth, Fife

Role Type: Full time / Fixed Term Contract – 18 Months

The role

As a Quality Control Inspector – Electrical, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most exciting defence programmes - the Type 31 Frigate. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a project that’s redefining naval capability and supporting national security. You’ll be part of a high-performing team ensuring the quality and integrity of warship systems, helping us deliver excellence to the Royal Navy and beyond.

Day-to-day responsibilities
  • Inspecting and accepting the installation of ship machinery, equipment, and systems
  • Liaising closely with Lloyds Register and other verification bodies
  • Managing inspection regimes and maintaining completion records within CMS
  • Coordinating inspection schedules and diaries with external stakeholders
  • Supporting quality improvement initiatives across the Type 31 project

This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday and is based on site at Rosyth.

Essential experience
  • Strong knowledge of quality control in naval warship construction and acceptance
  • Ability to assess production and subcontractor work for technical compliance
  • Deep understanding of quality control fundamentals
  • Broad knowledge of warship machinery and systems design and installation
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
Qualifications
  • Recognised trade qualification in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • Relevant academic qualification (HNC or SVQ Level 3)
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
