A confidential client in the defence and security sector is seeking a skilled Quality Control Inspector to support inspection activities across electrical, electronic, optical, and mechanical components.

This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail and a proactive approach to defect resolution and continuous improvement.

You'll be responsible for routine inspections, fault reporting, equipment calibration, and maintaining accurate records. Working within a machine shop environment, you'll play a key role in ensuring product quality and compliance with technical standards.

Responsibilities
  • Inspecting components across various stages (goods inwards, sub-assembly, final inspection)
  • Labeling and quarantining defective materials
  • Investigating faults and issuing reports to the Quality Control Team Leader
  • Recommending improvements to the Quality Manager
  • Calibrating and storing equipment correctly
  • Completing documentation accurately and maintaining confidentiality
  • Supporting ad hoc tasks as requested by the Quality Control Manager
Candidate requirements
  • Experience in a machine shop environment with tight tolerances
  • Hands-on inspection experience using Verniers, micrometres, and gauges
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Preferably experienced in setting up and operating a CMM
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T
  • Effective communicator with attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in the defence and security sectors
  • Eligible for SC-level security clearance
