Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Quality Control Engineer for a leading engineering environment in the UK. The role focuses on ensuring products, documentation, and supplier activities meet customer and contractual quality standards throughout the lifecycle.

You will conduct inspections, review QCPs and ITPs, and collaborate with engineering teams to define quality requirements. Experience in regulated sectors and ISO 9001 familiarity are highly valued for this position.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality control, inspection, manufacturing, or engineering environments.
• Strong understanding of quality documentation, inspection processes and supplier quality management.
• Experience in highly regulated industries is advantageous (nuclear, defence, aerospace, oil & gas, heavy engineering).
• Knowledge of fabrication, welding, NDT, mechanical inspection or assembly/testing activities is beneficial.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct supplier and manufacturing inspections to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Review and approve Quality Control Plans (QCPs) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Support engineering and project teams in defining quality and inspection requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Identify and manage quality risks, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
• Attend project reviews, supplier meetings, and customer inspections as required.
• Support tender activities by providing quality-related estimates and technical input.
