Qualifications

  • Basic technical knowledge of material certification is essential.
  • Able to review and interpret material certification.
  • Proven experience of material certification, documentation compilation and control.
  • Willing to obtain security clearance.
  • Strong administration and organisational capability with attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in engineering/manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Review material certifications to ensure compliance.
  • Verify works orders and material traceability before release.
  • Support the contract review process for compliance.
  • Compile and manage customer documentation and certification packages.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints relating to documentation.
  • Produce reports, data, and analysis on quality certification.
  • Maintain accurate Quality Administration and Certification records.
  • Ensure products are delivered with correct documentation.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in certification.
  • Conduct and support 'buddy checks' with Final Inspection.
  • Support audits and compliance with standards.
  • Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement.

My client are a precision manufacturing business based in Birmingham specialising in machining and assembly of high value low volume components. The Quality Compliance Officer will be detail orientated, hands‑on, can‑do individual who can support various departmental requirements. The Quality Compliance Officer will be required to ensure that products have the correct certification / documentation on time to the required quality standards in accordance with the customer specification.

The Quality Compliance Officer will be required to "hit the ground running" in a fast‑paced environment and is confident to collaborate with people at all levels both internally and externally.

Job Description
  • Review material certifications (3.1/3.2 Mill Certificates, 2.1 CoC), NDT and welding records to ensure compliance with customer and contract requirements.
  • Verify works orders and material traceability to confirm conformity before release.
  • Support the contract review (Quote2Order) process to ensure full compliance prior to order acknowledgment.
  • Compile and manage customer documentation and certification packages.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints relating to documentation.
  • Produce reports, data, and analysis on quality certification as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date Quality Administration and Certification records.
  • Ensure products are delivered with correct, traceable documentation.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in certification or documentation before delivery.
  • Conduct and support "buddy checks" with Final Inspection and assist with 3rd‑party document reviews.
  • Support audits (customer, internal, and external) and compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
  • Maintain and update systems (HelpSpot, DRs, concessions, bookings).
  • Promote quality awareness, continuous improvement, and adherence to SOPs.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, supporting visitors and auditors when required.
Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills
  • Basic technical knowledge of material certification is essential
  • Able to review and interpret material certification to ensure compliance with standards and to customer specific requirements, e.g. (QASOR's) Quality Assurance Statement of Requirements
  • Proven experience of material certification, documentation compilation and control
  • Have or able/willing to obtain security clearance
  • Strong administration and organisational capability, with a high level of attention to detail, prioritisation and planning skills
  • Previous experience of engineering / manufacturing
