Job summary

C&K Meats is recruiting a Quality Auditor to support the growing technical department at Eye, Suffolk. The role splits duties between on-site laboratory testing and shop floor quality assurance across all factory areas, ensuring products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have QA or food manufacturing experience, be comfortable in a small in-house laboratory setting, and able to work across all shop floor areas including slaughter facilities.

Quality Auditor - Pork Factory

(QA Shifts hours negotiable. Start time between 1pm and 1am (42.5 hours per week))

We are recruiting a Quality Auditor (QA) to support our growing technical department.

Team size 4 x QA, 1 x Quality Systems Technologist, I x Spec Tec, QA Manager, Technical Systems Manager and Head of Technical.

In this technical role, you will split your duties equally between in-house laboratory testing and shop floor quality assurance across all factory areas.

You will ensure all products conform to quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.

Duties in this role:

• Perform routine in-house Trichinella testing within our dedicated on-site laboratory (50% of the role)
• Perform a wide range of QA activities across all shop floor areas of the factory, including slaughter (50% of the role)
• Inspect and verify products against customer specifications, quality standards, and procedures
• Accurately record data relating to testing and product conformity in a timely manner
• Highlight to management any issue that could compromise food safety, quality, or legality
• General administrative tasks for the department, including filing and archiving records
• Report any health and safety hazards within working areas and report equipment defects immediately
• Fully cooperate with site management and the technical team
• A flexible approach to work in order to meet operational requirements
• Carry out all duties as deemed necessary by managerial or supervisory staff to ensure the smooth running of the site
• Compliance with health and safety rules, company policies, and standard operating procedures at all times

Our ideal candidate:

• Previous experience in a QA or food manufacturing environment is preferred

• Comfortable working across all shop floor factory areas, including slaughter facilities
• A good level of written and spoken English
• Excellent attention to detail and accurate data-recording skills
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Ability to work using your own initiative
• Flexible and adaptable to shift patterns
• Basic IT skills
