Job summary

Hovis Bakeries in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking an experienced Quality Auditor to join the Technical team and promote, monitor and drive continuous improvements in Quality, Food Safety and due diligence standards across the site.

You will manage controlled documents, forms and procedures, collate critical data to ensure CCPs, legal and customer requirements are met, and support external audits and recalls. Working with production and technical teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Food manufacturing background is essential, ideally with QA or technical experience.
• Competent user of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organising skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
• Good communication skills with production and technical teams.
• Maintains a positive and proactive approach when dealing with challenges and changing priorities.
• Takes ownership of issues and follows through to effective resolution.

Responsibilities

• Positively engage with the Safety-First culture, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures in respect of Health and Safety, Food Safety and Quality.
• Coordinate Daily product assessments, promoting corrective actions to remedy any faults found.
• Download and assess food safety critical process data.
• Assist with the investigation of complaints and food safety incidents.
• Review process documentation and implement improvement initiatives to drive paperwork standards.
• Control and, maintain procedures/briefs/specifications and ensure documentation is updated to meet the required standards.
• Departmental support with NPD and EPD.
• Coordinate the collation of product samples and distribute accordingly.
• Conduct Mould Free Shelf-Life samples assessment.
• Support with traceability/recall exercises.
• Departmental support during external audits and non-conformance close out process.
