A recruitment agency is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join its Technical Department in Coventry. In this full-time position, you will support the maintenance and verification of Food Safety and Quality Systems. Key responsibilities include conducting quality inspections, managing traceability systems, and ensuring compliance with internal standards. Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to learn and develop with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good standard of both written and oral English.
  • Basic Food Hygiene and Basic Health and Safety certifications.
  • High level of competency in Internal Auditing and competent in HACCP.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct relevant Quality inspections according to HACCP Plans.
  • Monitor the traceability system throughout the production process.
  • Provide Quality information for SAP report purposes.
  • Ensure the use of current versions of controlled documentation.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping of all production records.
  • Perform testing of Finished Products within a laboratory.
  • Collaborate closely with Production and Warehouse teams.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement with Production and Warehouse.
  • Assist with corrective action implementation for quality.
  • Report on QA KPIs and conduct various factory audits.
  • Collect Microbiological & Chemical Samples.
  • Conduct microbiological swabbing and environmental testing.
  • Manage sample collection for shelf-life monitoring.
  • Perform shelf life and organoleptic testing.
  • Involve in customer complaint investigations.
  • Manage Equipment Calibration & Verification Plan.
  • Assist in Mock Recalls/Traceability Exercises.
  • Maintain awareness of site GMO policy.
  • Perform additional duties as instructed.

Overview

Quality Assurance Technician

Location: Coventry
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £29,099 per annum

Join our team as a Quality Assurance Technician in our Technical Department. This vital role supports the maintenance, verification, and monitoring of our Food Safety, Quality Systems, and Product Quality to meet internal, customer, and third-party requirements. You will play a key role in promoting a Quality Culture and Continuous Improvement throughout our factory environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct relevant Quality inspections according to the Quality Assurance and HACCP Plans with high attention to detail.
  • Monitor and verify the traceability system throughout the production process.
  • Manage and provide Quality information for SAP report purposes, such as Moisture content.
  • Ensure the use of only current versions of controlled documentation within the factory.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping of all production records critical to quality and product safety, ensuring availability for review.
  • Perform testing of Finished Products within a laboratory environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the Production and Warehouse teams to maintain high levels of Good Manufacturing Practice.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement alongside the Production and Warehouse teams.
  • Assist with corrective action implementation and control of Foreign Bodies to reduce contamination risks.
  • Report on QA KPIs and conduct various factory audits (GMP, Fabric, Hygiene, Glass & Plastics audits, and Internal System Audits).
  • Collect Microbiological & Chemical Samples and liaise with external laboratories.
  • Conduct microbiological swabbing, environmental, and hand swabs.
  • Manage sample collection for shelf-life monitoring and customer sample purposes.
  • Perform shelf life and organoleptic testing & trending.
  • Actively involve in customer complaint investigations.
  • Manage the Equipment Calibration & Verification Plan and laboratory consumables stock control.
  • Assist in Mock Recalls/Traceability Exercises and participate in Customer and Accreditation audits.
  • Maintain awareness of site GMO policy and requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as instructed by the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
