LPI Group Newcastle, England, United Kingdom is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to oversee QA activities across projects and ensure compliance with project specs, industry standards and company procedures. The role is on-site in Newcastle with potential travel to other UK projects.

You will develop SOPs, ITPs, quality plans, and maintain records, collaborating with engineers, site teams and contractors to drive zero-defect delivery on complex energy, data centre or infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

  • 3rd Level qualification or equivalent in a science or engineering related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems, ISO standards and the ISO certification process.
  • Solid understanding of construction standards, codes and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with engineers, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, Excel, Teams, Outlook etc.
  • Experience using construction management platforms, including Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM360, Dalux, EIDA Solutions, Procore or similar systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support engineering and operational teams in meeting quality system requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and document quality control activities throughout all phases of company projects.
  • Develop and draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Controlled Documents.
  • Create quality plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and related documentation systems.
  • Collaborate with clients to ensure their quality standards and procedures are submitted, approved and implemented according to agreed timelines on site.
  • Identify non‑conformances and quality issues, report them to management, and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of all quality inspections, testing, and audits conducted on‑site.
  • Ensure all documentation, including certification, as‑built drawings and handover certificates, is complete and verified before the final project handover.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide updates on quality

QA Specialist

Purpose of Role

The role of the QA Specialist is to ensure quality assurance standards are consistently achieved across all projects. The QA Technician will support quality assurance activities throughout the engineering and construction phases, including performing site inspections, verifying compliance with project specifications, documenting findings, and confirming that all work aligns with industry and company standards. This role requires close collaboration with site teams, engineers, Project Managers, and contractors to maintain effective quality control throughout the entire project lifecycle.

*Note that this role will be based on‑site in Newcastle, UK with travel to other UK projects likely in the future*
