Occasional hybrid working may be available once established and depending on operational requirements

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading engineering manufacturer supplying complex mechanical systems to global marine and subsea customers, working on projects that support high-performance ROV systems and deep-water technology. You'll play a key role in maintaining quality standards across in-house manufacturing and key supplier sites - perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of hands‑on inspection, technical problem‑solving and working closely with engineering teams.

About the Company You'll be joining a respected engineering manufacturer known for designing and delivering robust subsea systems used worldwide. Their products are recognised for reliability in challenging environments, and their reputation is built on strong engineering practice, precision manufacturing and long‑term investment in quality. With modern facilities, a supportive culture and a strong focus on continuous improvement, this is an environment where quality professionals can genuinely make an impact.

The Role

As Quality Assurance Engineer, you'll carry out inspections both on‑site and at supplier locations (including Aberdeen, Birmingham and other UK sites), ensuring components, assemblies and fabricated parts meet required specifications. Your work will support ROV manufacturing projects, quality documentation, and supplier performance.

Day‑to‑day, you will:
  • Carry out mechanical, machining and weld inspections against engineering drawings and specifications
  • Inspect fabricated and machined components both on‑site and at supplier facilities, completing dimensional reports and supporting engineering change control
  • Perform mechanical inspections, paint shop checks, weld inspections, thickness measurements and visual assessments
  • Build and maintain certification packs, route cards, test reports and calibration documentation
  • Support vendor quality management and contribute to NCRs, CAPA actions and continuous improvement activities
  • Make recommendations for process improvements and ensure high housekeeping and compliance standards across all stages of inspection

This is a role with real variety, combining hands‑on engineering inspection, supplier interaction, and documentation ownership within a busy manufacturing environment.

About You

You’ll bring solid experience in mechanical inspection within a manufacturing setting, strong documentation skills, and the confidence to work independently at supplier sites. You’ll be proactive, organised, and comfortable communicating with production, engineering and supply chain teams.

You’ll need:
  • ISO Auditor qualification
  • Experience with ISO9001, ISO45001 or ISO14001 frameworks
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret technical specifications
  • Experience using inspection tools such as vernier callipers and micrometres
  • Familiarity with project quality requirements (ITPs, quality plans etc.)
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK as required
  • Candidates must have Subsea ROV experience
Benefits
  • 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Occasional hybrid working (when established and subject to workload)
  • 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
  • Overtime: Time and a half (Mon‑Sat) / Double time (Sunday)
  • 5% salary sacrifice pension
  • 2× salary life assurance
  • Private healthcare
