Job summary

A leading aerospace technology firm in the United Kingdom is seeking a quality assurance professional to develop and implement quality standards. The successful candidate will perform audits, conduct root cause analyses, and provide support for inspections. An engineering degree and familiarity with AS9100 Rev. D are essential. Experience in the aerospace or defense sectors is preferred, along with skills in quality tools like Lean Sigma and 8D reports. Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent) either Engineering or Quality standard.
  • Must be familiar with AS9100 Rev. D.
  • Experienced in a similar role, ideally in an Aerospace and/or Defense industry.
  • Experience in quality tools and techniques (8D reports, Lean Sigma, PPAP, FMEA etc.).

Responsibilities

Job description

With over 50 years of experience in aviation technology, Curtiss-Wright's Sensors & Controls Division is continuing the legacy of flight innovation, providing critical components on a variety of commercial, defense and industrial platforms. From solenoid valves and sensors, to linear and rotary actuators, we work closely with systems integrators to deliver the most reliable products on the market.

Responsibilities
  • Develops, applies and revises quality standards for receiving, in-process and final inspection in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
  • Reviews and evaluates in-process rejections, obtains disposition, and implements corrective action as needed.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (5 Why, Ishikawa, Fault Tree) and complete 8D reports for both internal issues and customer returns.
  • Interface with customers, vendors, and various company departments to resolve quality problems and provide information.
  • Lead internal audits, process audits and support external audits (customers, certification bodies, regulatory authorities).
  • Provides technical support to inspection personnel as needed.
  • May prepare and provide product assurance documentation as required by customer programs.
  • Analyse quality data (scrap, rework, Cp/Cpk, SPC, defects per unit) to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assure compliance to in-house and/or external specifications, standards and provide product assurance documentation as required by customer programs.
  • Support First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102, PPAP submissions when required.
