Job summary

A leading manufacturer in the aerospace sector is seeking a Quality Assurance Assistant to manage quality documentation, handle customer complaints, and track equipment calibrations. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, strong organisational skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of quality systems like AS/EN 9100 is essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Essential understanding of AS / EN 9100 and / or AS / EN 9120 principles or similar quality systems.
  • Previous experience in an administrative or quality support role.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update quality documentation, including logging complaints.

Quality Assurance Assistant

Oldham

Mon-Fri 7:45 am to 5:00pm (flexi start time)

The Role

This position works for a leading manufacturer in the aerospace sector. You will be dealing with customer complaints as well as assisting with the following: NCRs, CAPAs, KPIs, calibrations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update quality documentation, including logging and updating the status of complaints.
  • Enter and manage data in quality databases and spreadsheets.
  • Prepare and issue KPI summaries for management review.
  • Assist in the control of non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions (CAPAs), and improvement logs.
  • Support internal and external audits by organising online files and ensuring record completeness.
  • Track and schedule equipment calibrations, ensuring all tools remain within calibration.
  • Coordinate and maintain document control system (i.e., training records, document reviews, and revision control for procedures and work instructions).
  • Communicate with production, engineering and suppliers to resolve documentation or quality data queries.
  • Provide general administrative support to the QHSE Manager and Quality Inspectors as required.
The Candidate
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment is preferred so there is a solid understanding and awareness of the process flow from raw materials to finished products (including procurement, planning and production, quality testing through to packaging and distribution).
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with databases or QMS software essential.
  • Ability to manipulate and analyse data is essential.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Able to prioritise and handle multiple tasks in a busy manufacturing environment.
  • Essential understanding of AS / EN 9100 and / or AS / EN 9120 principles or similar quality systems.
  • Previous experience in an administrative or quality support role within a manufacturing or engineering company.
  • Knowledge of quality documentation, auditing, or compliance desirable.
