About this role
Colossus Bets is hiring for a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to support both the product and technical teams in the testing and release of its product roadmap. The QA Analyst is responsible for supporting the planning, design and execution of system testing on simple to complex implementations. They will work collaboratively with the IT department and business units to execute and validate test cases based upon system requirements. The QA Analyst will identify and document defects when performing test execution in a fast-paced, fluid and changing environment. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in manual testing, and ideally an understanding of automated testing. They will also be responsible for promoting best practices throughout the testing process life-cycle and assisting the team in building a solid testing strategy.
Responsibilities
- Plan and Design Testing: Develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, scripts, and cases for multiple projects of varying complexity, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements
- Execute and Manage Testing Activities: Conduct functional, regression, exploratory, performance, load, and stress testing to ensure product quality, scalability, and reliability. Validating that user and business expectations are met across all testing phases
- Defect and Risk Management: Identify, document, and communicate defects clearly, overseeing the complete issue resolution cycle. Assess and communicate business and technical risks related to testing outcomes and releases
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with product owners, business analysts, developers, and project managers to define acceptance criteria, review requirements for testability, and determine optimal testing strategies. Participate actively in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews, and retrospectives
- Reporting and Documentation: Produce clear and concise test reports and metrics. Maintain test documentation including plans, cases, and scripts to support traceability and knowledge sharing. Contribute insights from testing outcomes to improve development and QA processes
- Release and Post‑Release Support: Support product owners in final acceptance testing, participate in release planning, and verify readiness for deployment. Monitor and analyze application logs post‑release to identify potential issues or trends
- Professional Attributes: Demonstrate strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, self‑motivation, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote or distributed team environment. Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders using clear, pragmatic, and collaborative communication
Requirements
Must have:
- Understanding of Software Testing Fundamentals (Knowledge of different testing types, familiarity with SDLC)
- Basic Test Case Design & Execution Skills Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases and test scripts
- Defect lifecycle knowledge: Understanding defect severity vs. priority and knowledge of how to log, track, and retest defects effectively
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology and tools (e.g Jira, Confluence)
- Understanding of logging and debugging tools (browser dev tools, inspect element, log analyzers)
Nice to have:
- Experience with automation tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or TestComplete
- API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI
- Soft skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical & problem‑solving skills, effective communication, team collaboration and time management
- A general understanding and interest in sports
- Client‑facing experience — understanding how to gather requirements or reproduce issues from stakeholders
