We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic midwife with experience in Quality and Risk to be based at University hospitals of North Midlands. Your role will support the Deputy Director of Midwifery for Governance in the delivery of the governance strategy for maternity services.
You will support in the development of the quality and safety agenda to achieve consistency of practice, high standards of care and innovation.
The post holder will assist the Deputy Director of Midwifery in the development of the professional midwifery agenda to achieve consistency of practice, high standards of care and innovation with a strong patient safety focus.
Be the Quality and Safety expert for Women's services to develop and implement a robust governance agenda that is effective.
Provide effective leadership and management and promote a proactive approach to all aspects of clinical governance and risk management.

Work with the Deputy Director of Midwifery Governance meeting its statutory requirements and clinical governance objectives by monitoring and reporting on the progress of achieving compliance i.e. risk management and, infection prevention and control, timely incident management including meeting requirements of HSIB, MBRACCE,PMRT, ATTAIN, multiagency paediatric death investigations etc., Care Quality Commission standards and regulations, mandatory staff training.
Provide operational management of the risk process, timely complaints responses and learning from incidents and complaints.
Responsible for the monitoring of the risk register and ensuring compliance with review process.
Horizon scan potential risks and advise the care group and executive team on these risks.
Ensure the risk register is up to date and risk assessment, mitigations and action plans are appropriate.
