Physis Care in the United Kingdom is seeking a Therapeutic Support Worker to help young people aged 11–18 overcome trauma in residential settings across Whitchurch, Newport and Market Drayton. You will provide therapeutic, child-centred care and work as part of a dedicated team under the Registered Manager.

Essentially you will model Physis’ Therapeutic Care approach, support emotional, social and educational development, and promote safeguarding while building trusting relationships with young

Qualifications

• Level 3 QCF Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Essential
• Full UK Driving Licence – Essential (onsite vehicle use)
• Experience working with young people with complex needs in a residential setting
• Calm, resilient and confident in challenging situations
• Strong child-centred values and decision-making
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Model and implement the Physis Model of Therapeutic Care to provide a safe, nurturing environment
• Support the emotional, social, and educational development of young people through individual and group work
• Work under the direction of the Registered Manager, and run shifts as required (Senior)
• Act as a consistent caregiver, ensuring daily needs and individual care plans are met
• Promote safeguarding and welfare at all times
• Act as an ambassador for Physis Care and work effectively with external agencies

Hours of work: 07:30 - 23:00 (Approx) - Rolling 2 on 4 off

Sleep-in Payments: Additional £65 per night [Average up to £4,000 per year]

This is an exciting opportunity to join Physis Care as a Therapeutic Support Worker, supporting young people to overcome significant trauma, build resilience, and achieve their full potential.

We operate a number of specialist residential homes across Whitchurch, Newport, and Market Drayton.

As part of our dedicated and nurturing team, you will provide therapeutic, child-centred care to young people aged 11–18, who have experienced trauma and may be vulnerable to, or at risk of, exploitation. Through positive relationships, consistency, and compassion, you will play a vital role in helping young people feel safe, valued, and empowered to progress.

Experience and qualifications you will have:

Successful applicants will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Any unspent conviction/cautions should be declared at the point of application. Any adult cautions (simple or conditional) or spent convictions that are not protected as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 should also be declared.
