Job summary

Leicester City Council is recruiting an experienced Adult Social Care solicitor to join our safeguarding and social care legal team. You will handle a diverse caseload, provide high-quality legal advice and advocacy for the Council, and work in partnership with the client department to secure positive outcomes for adults.

This is a career graded post (LG Band 9-LG Band 11) with hybrid working and a welcome payment of £5,000 after a successful probation.

Qualifications

• Post qualification experience in adult social care, including mental health, community care and judicial review.
• Demonstrable advocacy, negotiating and advisory skills with good risk management.
• Highly motivated with strong organisational skills and a pro-active approach; excellent written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Hold responsibility for a diverse caseload of adult social care and related matters, providing quality legal advice and support.
• Undertake advocacy for the Council as part of safeguarding and care proceedings.
• Work in partnership with the client department to enable quality service delivery and positive outcomes for adults.

What You Will Need

You will have post qualification experience of adult social care cases including mental health, community care and judicial review. Your excellent communication skills, both written and oral, will ensure that you are able to work with a wide of people and represent the service in a professional, client focused manner.
