Qualified Social Worker, Mental Health Team

Pay rate £30 per hour

Contract role

We are recruiting for experienced Social Worker to work in a Mental Health Team in Stockport.

Hybrid working is agreed one or 2 days per week. Workers will be expected to be in office for any mandatory meetings and also be available to do visits during the times of working from home if needed. Office presence is expected initially in order to get to know team and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of the Children’s First Partnership Hub (CFPH), including Early Help and MASH functions.
• Manage triage and screening of referrals, ensuring timely and evidence-based decision-making.
• Ensure statutory safeguarding duties are met in line with the Safeguarding Children’s Partnership threshold document.
• Lead multi-agency decision-making processes and ensure correct thresholds are applied.
• Supervise and support staff including Social Workers, CAROs, and Business Support Officers.
• Maintain high standards of information sharing and collaborative working with partner agencies.
• Champion strength-based and relationship-focused practice across the team.
• Provide management oversight of contact records and referrals, ensuring child-focused and safe decisions.
• Support quality assurance through audits and learning reviews.
