Qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer

We are currently looking for a Qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer for one of our clients. This is a permanent role, with the company based in Shrewsbury. If you're a hands‑on engineer with strong electrical and mechanical knowledge and enjoy working in varied environments, we want to hear from you.

What We're Looking For
  • Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering - ideally with experience working on drives/motors and gearboxes, along with strong electrical knowledge.
  • Hands‑on experience with overhead crane systems (preferred).
  • Excellent fault‑finding abilities across both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays and some international work.
  • Candidates must have a full, clean UK driving licence and be able to travel to client sites as required.
  • Flexibility to attend call outs as required.
  • Comfortable working at height, including on scissor lifts up to 20m (and possibly higher).
  • A proactive, safety‑focused mindset with strong customer service skills.
  • IPAF certification preferred.
  • LEEA certification is an advantage.
Salary & Benefits
  • Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE)
  • Average earnings last year were £47,000-£55,000, with higher potential for those who want it.
  • Hours:
    • Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:00am - 2:00pm
    • (Flexibility required)
  • Overtime:
    • Weekend work as required
    • Saturday: Time and a half
    • Sunday: Double time
  • Transport: Company van provided, with daily pick‑up/drop‑off in Shrewsbury.
  • Pension: Company pension scheme (after a 3‑month probation period).
  • Holidays: 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays
