Job Title: Qualified English Teacher - North Manchester

About the Role GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school community in North Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to raising literacy standards and inspiring students to develop a love for language and literature.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with KS5 experience desirable), fostering critical thinking, creativity, and strong communication skills in your students.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver well-structured, creative, and inclusive English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Differentiate teaching to meet the diverse needs of all learners, ensuring progress and achievement for every student.
• Assess, record, and report on pupils’ progress and attainment.
• Contribute to the development of the English department and participate in wider school initiatives.
• Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages high expectations and student engagement.

Candidate Requirements

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Hold a degree in English, English Literature, or a closely related subject.
• Have recent and relevant experience teaching English at secondary school level.
• Demonstrate excellent classroom management and strong communication skills.
• Hold a current enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
