Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our team in Waddesdon, Buckinghamshire. This pivotal role involves supporting the delivery of high-quality childcare and early education for children aged 0-5 years. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a skilled team to create a safe, stimulating, and caring environment that promotes children’s development and well‑being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age‑appropriate activities that support children’s learning and development in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and development, maintaining accurate records to inform planning and report to parents and management.
  • Provide a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment that encourages children’s independence and emotional security.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for each child.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support children’s social and emotional development through effective communication and consistent routines.
  • \>Maintain compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and organisational policies.
  • Attend team meetings, training sessions, and contribute to continuous professional development.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in Early Years Education and Childcare or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Experience working with children aged 0-5 years in a nursery, pre‑school, or similar early years setting.
  • Sound knowledge and practical application of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework.
  • Understanding of child development principles and safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with initiative.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or willingness to undergo one.
Desirable Attributes
  • First aid qualification relevant to early years.
  • Experience in supporting children with additional needs.
  • Knowledge of current best practice and developments in early years education.
