Job summary

Bright Horizons Blackheath Day Nursery and Preschool is hiring a flexible Nursery Practitioner to support EYFS delivery. The role is part of our Bright Flex/Bank team at Blackheath, London, offering engaging activities for children and opportunities to work across rooms with a supportive team.

The ideal candidate holds a Level 2 Early Years qualification, has childcare experience, and can adapt to a flexible schedule while safeguarding children at all times.

Salary – From £14.41 per hour (dependant on qualification/s and experience) Location – Blackheath, London

We’re looking for a flexible working practitioner to join our Bright Flex / Bank team at our Blackheath Nursery, situated in Blackheath, London. Our lovely 74-place nursery is proud Ofsted rated ‘Good’. Our nursery offers fantastic space within our rooms, which provide outstanding opportunities and engaging surroundings. The nursery also features a fantastic outdoor garden space, complete with age appropriate equipment!

The Role

Working as part of our Bright Flex / Bank team, you can blend the convenience of bank/ agency work, with the security and benefits of being an employee – giving you the best of both worlds! Within this role, you will support colleagues with their delivery of the EYFS through engaging children in entertaining and educational activities, encouraging their development towards key milestones. You will also work as part of a larger team to ensure all essential day-to-day tasks are completed, such as room tidying and preparation.

What we’re looking for
  • Full and relevant Level 2 or above Early Years qualification
  • Previous experience working with children – Nursery Practitioner, Nursery Nurse, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder or similar
  • Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child
  • Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
  • Sound understanding of child protection and safeguarding
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable
