Job summary

Anderson Knight Limited in Glasgow city centre is recruiting a Qualified Accountant – Business Services Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of clients and provide high quality accounting and advisory services.

You will review year end accounts, manage management reporting, mentor junior staff, and work closely with Partners on growth strategies. The role is permanent, with clear progression to Director-level responsibilities within a supportive, collaborative firm.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA or ACCA with UK practice experience.
• Strong technical knowledge in accounts preparation, management accounts and tax.

Responsibilities

• Taking responsibility for your own portfolio of clients, managing all of their business needs.

Our client is a well established, independent chartered accountancy practice in the heart of Glasgow. The firm is proud of its low staff turnover and its friendly, collaborative culture.

Following continued growth, they are now looking to add Business Services Manager to the team, with clear progression to Director level.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, forward thinking firm during an exciting period of growth. You will play a key role in supervising a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of industries, delivering high quality accounting and advisory services.

The role is varied and hands on, offering exposure to a broad range of responsibilities, including:

• Taking responsibility for your own portfolio of clients, managing all of their business needs
• Reviewing year end accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships prepared by the accounts team, and getting involved in the preparation of more complex clients
• Adding value to clients business, advising on growth and strategy where appropriate
• Reviewing and preparing management accounts and financial reporting packs
• Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact, including meeting clients as required
• Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and supporting their development
• Assisting Partners with ad-hoc projects and client queries
• Ensuring all compliance deadlines are met efficiently and to a high standard

About You

• Qualified CA or ACCA, ideally with 4+ years’ PQE within a UK accountancy practice
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation, management accounts and tax
• Confident supervising your own client portfolio with minimal supervision
• A proactive, client focused approach with excellent attention to detail
• Initiative in identifying business and tax issues and referring them to a Partner for follow up
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An enthusiastic team player who enjoys mentoring and supporting junior colleagues
